Talpa Search is an AI-powered library search tool that combines AI technology with authoritative book data to help users find books and other media. It uses large language models to parse and understand queries and validate the results against a massive storehouse of true and authoritative bibliographic data. Talpa Search can search for books based on various criteria, including subject, tags, characters, and cover design. It prioritizes items in the library"s collection but also includes items not in the collection. The tool is currently available for free to libraries that use Syndetics Unbound from ProQuest and LibraryThing. However, it is still an experiment and its future as a standalone product or add-on to Syndetics Unbound is uncertain. Talpa Search is developed by LibraryThing, a company known for its personal cataloging site, and it was created in collaboration with ProQuest.
