Laion

LAION, which stands for Large-scale Artificial Intelligence Open Network, is a non-profit organization dedicated to making machine learning resources accessible to the general public. They provide datasets, tools, and models to empower machine learning research and promote open public education. One of their unique features is their focus on reusing existing datasets and models, which promotes a more environmentally friendly use of resources. They offer various datasets, including LAION-400M with 400 million English image-text pairs, LAION-5B with 5.85 billion multilingual CLIP-filtered image-text pairs, and LAION-Aesthetics, a subset of LAION-5B filtered by a model trained to score aesthetically pleasing images. LAION also offers the largest CLIP vision transformer model, Clip H/14. This AI tool has potential applications in areas such as computer vision, natural language processing, and AI research.
